Ellie Dille-Designer and Seamstress Bio
I received my Bachelors of Science
degree in Fashion and Costume Design and Technical Theatre in the Mid 1970s
from the University of Minnesota. After Studying in Paris, France; I returned
to Minnesota and took a position with the University of Minnesota as a teaching
Assistant in Costume Design. On off-hours I costumed for various Theatrical
Troups including the Minnesota Opera. I followed this experience with a
position in Fashion with the Dayton Corporation, where I was fortunate enough
to work with a group of talented individuals who helped me tweak my talents.
After this 4 year experience, I began working by contract for individuals,
Bridal Salons, and Theatrical Troups. This experienced was peppered with
raising my family, seeking additional education, and taking some time off while
seeking new passions and experiences. After this hiatus, my final conclusion
was that God really did make me the most passionate for textiles, fabrics, and
my good old sewing machine.
